Love me some turkey and stuffing...

Sorry, no new pics this week, but we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our closest friends, worked on projects and enjoyed having Brent around for a bit. We also went to Gattitown, which is pretty much like Chuck E Cheese and Drew had the time of his life. We'll be busy getting ready for Christmas and Brent will be studying like crazy for the boards. He's taking them Dec. 15 and 16; any extra good thoughts and/or prayers will be much appreciated. :)

Quakenados and family pictures...

Last weekend was quite a trip, with the culmination on Monday: We had two earthquakes over the weekend, and then Monday night we found ourselves in the middle of tornado and flash flood warnings when we had another earthquake. My favorite comment I saw on FB about the whole thing was a welcome sign to the state, and underneath is said, "Home of the Quakenado". Yeah, it was a lot of drama, although thank goodness unnecessary drama because we didn't get anything bad in the city...

And in lighter news, I did an exchange with one of my photog friends, Felisha, so we could have family pictures this year. So I forewent the shoddy attempts at a family picture with my tripod and remote and now we have some good pictures (by the way, find her website here).

Thanks Felisha! It was definitely fun to be on this side of the camera for once, and I learned so much working with you. And no worries, Grandmas, I already got some prints for you -- promise I'll bring them home at Christmas!

Candy? Free candy? Yeah, I'm all over that...

We had so much Halloween fun this year! I missed out on our ward party because I got really sick, but we got to go to a playgroup party and then really enjoyed Halloween night. I'm happy with our costumes this year, but especially Drew's...

Bryn didn't really fit in with our LOTR theme, so she's just a little baby elf, I guess. :) Made her a little Renaissance-style dress and a cloak.

Drew loved all the weapons he got with his costume. His bow was more for looks, though; it wouldn't shoot the arrow and was so big it started to get in the way when he was running from house to house.

I told him to give me a serious look and this is what he came up with... Squinty.

Brent was our bad guy this year, but his costume turned out not as cool as I had hoped. I made it in three pieces so it would be layered, but the layers kept shifting. His mask was too short, so we had to improvise something to cover his neck that didn't work very well. And the final coup? I had made his robe really, really long because I knew I would shrink it up afterward and it still wasn't long enough! I could see his ankles when he walked. Boo....

Bryn got to got trick-or-treating at a few houses, then we confined her to her elf carriage (aka stroller)...

We went with a huge group of friends in a different neighborhood (our neighborhood is AWFUL for Halloween), and this was only half the kids. And after a few houses, Drew realized just what was going on and he was the first one to run to the next house. He was having so much fun; when we left to go to our party, he kept asking, "Please, can I have more trick-or-treats?"

Looks like he found the hafling...

Yeah, that bucket is full!

Sorry, I really was going to get pictures of me, but once we got going on our Halloween festivities I totally forgot. I was Arwen in a green dress and a silver cloak I made several years ago...
